As much as we do talk down on Madden. I believe there is a place for it, there are those who do like the arcade-style gameplay. So I started thinking what can Madden do to improve? The obvious first and foremost is scraping the engine. It was a nice idea but it ultimately failed so it's time to scrap and move on. I have been looking at a lot of Madden 10 videos lately, and while that game still had it's flaws the engine is and could be a lot better than what they are using now. Once we start looking outside the engine itself the next big thing is animations. Each player in Madden has been broken down by style, you see this in the newer Maddens with schemes in Connected Careers. Why not use this beyond attributes and assign animations to each type of player, so for example a "Speed Back" has a different set of animations than a "Power Back" or a "One Cut". It would be a decent step towards making each player feel different on the field, and would completely re-do any old animations. Also reduce the number of attributes a player actually has, and specialize them for each position. I don't need to know what a Quarterbacks hit power is. I think with these improvements Madden can become a far better product.

I think you pretty much covered the bases! I like your ratings idea; specialized ratings for each position. I would rather have a sim football game but I wish we had like 3 sim games, 3 arcade-sim, 3 arcade styles games! It blows my mind that no football games exist in 2015, license or no license? I really dont like the direction of gaming as a whole!
